Something New

I’m excited to announce that I am leaving Female Founders Fund to start something new.

When Anu and I joined forces in 2015, the ecosystem for female founders, female VCs, and emerging managers looked radically different. In four short years, we’ve seen an exponential increase in the number of female-led IPOs and unicorns and the emergence of new voices and perspectives on the funding side. This transformation is catalyzing the startup and VC market to invest heavily in diverse perspectives, and in turn creating unprecedented opportunities to reimagine the traditional LP, GP, and founder relationship.

I’m grateful to my partner Anu, and to my incredible colleagues — Emily, Kaylin, and Casey — whom I have been lucky to work with over the years. I’m also thankful for the powerful women who joined F3 early — women like Melinda Gates, Marissa Mayer, and Arianna Huffington — and saw the potential in the new face of entrepreneurship. Together, we built an incredible brand, platform, and experience for the founders who trusted in us. I couldn’t be more proud and excited for the future of Female Founders Fund.

Looking ahead, it’s become clear to me that there are opportunities to create change at scale that simply didn’t exist four years ago. The space between a founder and a funder has slimmed dramatically, and I believe that the most meaningful way to catalyze change is to get more capital into the hands of fund managers who think, look, and behave differently.

I am investing in the future, not the past. I’m exploring what those transformations will look like, and am excited to share more in the coming months.

While I’ll no longer be day-to-day with the fund, I am transitioning to a Venture Partner role and plan to stay closely involved. I’m incredibly appreciative of Anu and our founders’ support in my next endeavor. I’ll be spending the next months building the foundation for this new adventure. The future is bright for all of us and I cannot wait to create it together.
